Assignment: Project Management of Debt Sale
Background: the client had almost a billion of old debt without a plan to dispose of it
Requirement: define framework for debt sale and oversee every step, from tender to segmentation and final sale
Solution: obtained approval to consider debt sale and was instrumental in developing the scope structure and invitation to tender framework. We segmented the portfolio and with analysis and third party data obtained agreement to sell £400 million. Rather than use a broker, the sale was managed internally and the final price was double the client's expected return

Independent Validation of Models
Assignment: Independent Validation of Models
Background: the client acted as a pool for a group of financial institutions to share data for the purpose of building Basel models required for the advanced approach to Capital Adequacy
Requirement: independent validation of PD, EAD and LGD models and a report for the members commenting on fitness for purpose and recommendations for implementation
Solution: a review of all documentation and calculations as soon as the models were developed. Experience of development techniques and knowledge of alternative modelling approaches and industry experience of through-the-cycle was applied. An interim report enabled the client to make modifications. The final report with recommendations was presented to the members of the pool

Assignment: Pricing Support for a Retail Credit Bid
Background: the client had previous experience of a small volume of loan business from a household name company. They had the opportunity to bid for the complete business that would have had a material impact on their portfolio.
Requirement: an independent view on the credit risk and pricing model
Solution: analysis of the existing portfolio and projection of credit losses based on experience and showing margin of error. Comparison of the profile of the existing business with the prospective business and extrapolation of the credit risk for the pricing model
